Strange fruit. My mother-in-law gave me some small plants in the spring. I stuck them in the soil and waited for them to die (gardening is not a talent of mine). They grew vigourously and produced these two peculiar knobbly gourds. They are not edible but are sitting on the mantelpiece looking suitably autumnal.

Cool that they grew anyway! I stuck a few red pepper seeds in a pot on my cousin in Spaind windowsill, and I came back the next year and it had fruits on it!
