Illustration Friday, The Seasons.

Seasons. It isn't a very original take on the subject, but I have a 30 day tryout of Corel Painter IX, and wanted to use it.

I really like it! I am kinda' partial to trees...long love affair with them. They "speak" to my soul.
Was this with the Corel?

Beautiful trees! Gives me the feeling of times from long ago...and fresh beginnings. Very poetic. :)

Yes, I used Painter 9 for this one, and I love it. It has a really good 'artist's oils' brush which is lovely and smeary. I already use Painter 8, which I prefer to Photoshop, but unfortunately for me 9 is even better and I may have to upgrade!

Yes, the four seasons depicted as trees might have been done many times before, but yours is an eye-catcher. I think it's the simplicity and honesty of the piece. You're not trying to be too deep and meaningful and it works. I really like it. :o)
