DIY sketchbooks

I like making sketchbooks from a random assortment of papers, it makes them less intimidating than a beautiful new Moleskine, somehow. This sketchbook has all sorts of paper samples I picked up at a trade fair, along with brown wrapping paper,
And some canvas offcuts. Some of the samples had writing on, so I put a layer of acrylic gesso on to fade it out a bit, although I quite like a bit of the print showing through. Each page is hole-punched then the stack is tied together with elastic, which makes it easy to open flat. I use a bit of thicker card for the covers. Not pretty, but I like them that way.
